Our Story
Löyly&Stone
Born from a reverence for fire, timber and the ancient ritual of heat, we craft bespoke saunas that transform gardens into private sanctuaries of wellbeing.
Where it began
Löyly&Stone was founded on a simple conviction: the sauna is not a product, but a place. A place where the day is left at the door, where conversation slows, and where the body remembers how to breathe.
Our founders spent years travelling through Finland, Estonia and the Baltic states, studying the proportions of smoke saunas, the grain of old-growth spruce, and the precise moment water becomes löyly on hot stone. That research became the blueprint for every cabin we build.
We select only the finest sauna-grade timbers — from the rich, decay-resistant warmth of Western Red Cedar to the pale, stable elegance of Thermo Aspen — and finish many of our cabins with charred Shou Sugi Ban cladding for depth, drama and decades of weather resistance.
Today we design and hand-build bespoke luxury saunas for discerning clients who understand that true wellness begins with materials you can smell, surfaces you can touch, and spaces that invite stillness.
Our Mission
To return the sauna to its rightful place as the spiritual heart of the home.
We believe that modern life moves too fast, and that the antidote is not another app or supplement, but a small, beautifully made room where heat, silence and natural timber restore the mind and body.
Our mission is to design and build saunas that honour this tradition while embracing contemporary architecture, sustainable materials and the specific rhythms of each client's life. Every cabin is unique because every garden, every family and every ritual is unique.
Our Vision
A world where the daily sauna is as natural as morning light.
We see a future in which the bespoke sauna is not a rare luxury, but a quiet standard of living — a timber room at the end of the garden, a place for families to gather, for athletes to recover, and for neighbours to talk without screens.
By combining old-world craftsmanship with precision engineering and a deep respect for the natural world, Löyly&Stone aims to set the benchmark for outdoor wellness architecture in the United Kingdom and beyond.
